Tendara's Founding Story
Tendara grew out of a small gathering in 2019 on Ko Samui's north shore. A handful of families — some Thai, some international — had begun meeting informally to share ideas about keeping home life organised and conversations kind. What started as a weekly kitchen table exchange became something more deliberate: a structured programme that put educational skill-building and genuine warmth at the centre of everything.
Our founder, Patchara Narinthorn, had spent years working in community facilitation and noticed a consistent gap: families wanted practical help with the texture of daily home life — not professional intervention, but something softer and more accessible. Tendara was the answer to that need.
Today we work with families across Ko Samui and Surat Thani province, offering three carefully scoped offerings: a conversation skills workshop, a household records organising session, and an ongoing community membership. Nothing we do crosses into counselling, mediation, legal, or financial advice — and we are transparent about that at every step.

Meet Our Facilitators
Our small team brings backgrounds in community facilitation, administrative organising, and peer education. No one holds a therapeutic or regulated professional role within Tendara's programmes.
Patchara Narinthorn
Founder & Lead Facilitator
Patchara developed Tendara's core workshop frameworks after years of community facilitation work across Koh Samui and Chiang Mai. She leads the Calm Conversations sessions.
Somchai Aroonwong
Records & Organising Specialist
Somchai brings a methodical, patient approach to the Keepsake Records Session. His background is in archival administration and household document management.
Nareerat Wittaya
Community Programme Coordinator
Nareerat coordinates the Lantern Community Membership, curating monthly workshop topics and ensuring the peer circle stays caring, constructive, and well-bounded in scope.

Our Standards & Practices
These are the principles and practical safeguards we apply across every Tendara offering.
Educational Framing Standard
All content is reviewed before each session to confirm it stays within general education and skill-building. No session material presents itself as professional advice.
Participant Privacy Care
Personal information shared in workshops and community discussions is treated with care. Facilitators are briefed on discretion, and community members agree to group privacy norms.
Clear Referral Practice
When a participant's needs go beyond our scope, we pause and refer them — clearly and without hesitation — to appropriate qualified professionals or official bodies in Thailand.
Session Preparation Process
Facilitators prepare structured session plans with clear learning objectives. Each plan is reviewed against scope guidelines before the session takes place.
Community Moderation
The Lantern Community is actively moderated to keep discussions supportive and educational. Posts that veer into personal advice-seeking are gently redirected.
Continuous Improvement
Participant feedback is collected after each offering and reviewed quarterly. We update our materials to stay relevant, clear, and aligned with our educational mission.
Family Communication Skills in Ko Samui
Ko Samui families — both those who have lived here for generations and those who have moved here from elsewhere — share many of the same day-to-day challenges: keeping household matters organised, finding the right words during tense moments, and building a home environment where everyone feels heard. Tendara works in this space, not as a professional service but as a knowledgeable, careful facilitator of general communication skills and practical household organisation.
Our workshops draw on well-regarded general frameworks for interpersonal communication, adapted for everyday family use. The records sessions apply straightforward administrative principles to help you hold your household documents in a way that makes future reference calm and easy. And the community membership creates a warm peer space where general experiences are shared and no single member is expected to carry another's personal burden.
